Duke Needs Your Well-Wishes
We had to rush Duke to the emergency vet tonight after he ate a Bounce dryer sheet. He picked it up off of the closet floor and before we could get it from him he ate it. We called his regular vet who told us to give him a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide, and if he didn't vomit in 30 minutes, we should take him to the emergency pet hospital. They didn't have the scope that they needed to get it out, so they had to call in a specialist. We left him there and they told us they would call us in a couple hours. We are just worried sick right now. As all of you know by now, Duke and Gidget are a lot more than just dogs to us. All we can do now is just wait and hope for the best. We really miss our little Dukie, and we can't wait to get him back home with us. We love you Duke, and we'll see you in the morning.
Update: The vet called to let us know they have removed the dryer sheet and Duke is doing fine. We are all quite relieved and will be able to sleep much easier tonight. Especially Gidget, who won't have to share the bed with her brother.

Oh, Duke! Stop eating things you find on the floor! The Woman taught me that a long time ago, and I'm glad I listened to her.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers everybody. Duke is back home now and he seems to be doing fine. In fact, he is already chasing Gidget around the family room. I'm sure he will want to blog about his experience later today. Thanks again for all your support.

YAY! We always knew Duke would be fine; and Gidget, stop acting tough and pretending that you enjoyed sleeping alone. We all know you love your little brother. Can't wait to hear Duke's take on the events.

Ut oh, Duke! I just ate something I wasn't supposed to as well (I ate an ibuprophen tablet).
I'm recovering and I hope you will be up and on your happy feet again soon!

I ate a dryer sheet once. I love them! But the vet acted like it wasn't that big of a deal and that I'd be fine. So mommy didn't take me to the vet. I'm glad you're okay.
My big thing now is fuz and kleenexes.

Hmmmm. That's weird Oscar, because our vet sure acted like it was a big deal. In fact the vet who took it out said that it would have blocked his intestine if we didn't have it removed. Of course she told us that after we had already paid her quite a large sum of money, so who knows. We're just glad that Duke is OK and back at home. Thanks again for all your concern everybody.
