Mommy's New Job

Mommy started a new job this week. It has been a couple of years since she has had a full time job, so Duke and I have some adjusting to do. On the one paw, more money for Mommy means more Milk Bones and toys for us. It will also inevitably mean more trips to Doggy Haven for us, and we are definitely in favor of that. But on the other paw, it also means that Duke and I are going to be home alone a lot longer everyday. I am not quite as happy about that development. Personally, I think I spend too much time home alone with that little mook as it is. Or was. Oh well, what are you gonna do? I guess you gotta take the bad with the good. I just hope there is some way I can use this to guilt-trip Mommy & Daddy into more meetup and dog park trips.

In other news, our backyard finally got mowed. There was about a 15 minute break between rainstorms Sunday, and Daddy took advantage of that to mow the grass. Oh boy, what a relief! I don't think I could have held my pee much longer. Thanks Daddy!

Duke appreciated it too!

My Mommy started going to work again right before Xmas. We still have Daddy all day, but he doesn't let us o-u-t as much.

I hope your Mommy enjoys being back to work. I know the extras are the best part. Just remember not to make too much mess so that Mommy has more time to play with you and less time picking up after you when she gets home from work.

Oh, Gidget, don't feel too bad. Trust me, when the humans make money, they will spend it on you.

Duke, your tongue is cracking me up! I'm glad that your daddy mowed the lawn and you can now poop without feeling like you're in the jungle.

Puggy kisses

I stumbled across ya'lls blog. LOVE IT!!!! you guys are typical pugletts!!! Sadly I don't have any pugs right now.Mine are all at the rainbow bridge. My first Pug was Sniffles-we called her the furry Budha since she would get on the couch and sit on her backside with her body leaning against the back(like we sit). She was my heart. She was bred one time and produced 3 AKC champions out of her litter of 5. For those pug lovers who don't show, believe me, they also live the good life. And in the 10 years I showed pugs, I only bred 3 litters, and had very stringent contracts for the new owners. Pug pups when they are born are one of the only breeds that look like the breed they are. Having shown and raised a couple other breeds as well, I have to say that the pugletts were the CUTEST right from the minute they entered the world. The reason I bred very sparingly was because I felt a responsibility to try to not only improve the breed, but to have homes lined up prior. The puppy mills make me sick. And in any of the puppies I sold the contract stated that if for any reason the new owners could not keep the baby it was to come back to me. One day I will have another furry Budha. I can no longer show due to disability, but I can sure love and listen to the pug snore-music to my ears:) You guys keep on with your puggy antics. I have so enjoyed reading your blog. I now have a standard poodle(she is my service dog) and I love her dearly. But I must have another pug in my life. Hopefully very soon.(By the Gidget-of course you are the boss, those boys just can't keep up with us girls!!!) Duke, don't feel bad, you are very handsome. I'd love to know, however, what goes through your mind licking the dishwasher while your dinner is being fixed!! As for your tongue-well-maybe you are related to Gene Simmons of Kiss ;) Hugs and sloppy kisses to the both of you!!!!!! Jamie in TX. Pug lover!!!!!!!!!!

Buster, our problem seems to be the exact opposite. Our Daddy throws us o-u-t way too much!

Mia, yep the extras (as in extra treats) are the best! So far we haven't made a mess, we just lounge on the couch all day. Well, I did have one little accident, but at least it was on the throw rug. And hey, we're pugs, what do you expect!

Thanks Suki, so far it hasn't been too bad. Oh and Duke wants me to tell you that he would be the best pug for you!

Jamie, thanks for the awesome comment, that really made our day! You really sound like our kind of person. Of course, we love all people, but pug people like you are extra special to us. Sorry to hear your pugs are all at the rainbow bridge, but we sure hope you can get another one (or two) someday soon. And we're sure all the pugs you have had will be waiting for you at the bridge. Oh and Duke wanted me to tell you he is not sure if he is related to Gene Simmons or not, but he does sometimes get the urge to put on makeup and spit fake blood. So who knows. And he also wishes he knew why he licks the dishwasher. Apparently he just can't help himself!
Again, thanks for the comment and we hope to hear from you again!

Hey Boo, yeah 10 hours is a pretty long time. We don't feel so bad about being alone for 8 hours now. Thanks for cheering us up!

Ronin, sounds like you are in the same boat as us. We feel your pain buddy.

So sorry to hear about your reduced mommy time, Gidget. My people both work from home, and I would be really ticked off if the Woman went back to a regular job. She's talking about it though. I hope it doesn't happen. Good luck with the mook!

Wow Norman, you are a lucky Pug. Hopefully you can talk the Woman out of going back to a regular job.
We sure wish our people worked from home. Or better yet, we wish they would win the lottery so then they could just stay home and play with us all day long!
